Lose the eagle, change the red accents to yellow and get that mitt off the counter and I'll take the 1947 model..  I don't need that much patriotism while making meatloaf.

Happy Birthday

Today is  Jim Henson's Birthday.  Kermit's original creation date was May 9th, 1955 but over the course of time it got changed officially to Sept 24th as well. By some trickery of coincidence Linda Lavin popped into my head recently and I found this Muppet Show episode where she guest starred and they celebrated the Kermit's Birthday.

Well?

Are you?  (For Norma)

This Movie scared the bejeebers out of my brother and I as children!

The scene at 1:28 has made me afraid to watch T.V while sitting in front of a picture window to this day.

Cause and effect

shortformblog:

This ad ran in today’s Wisconsin State Journal. Pretty sure this is a low point in the history of newspaper advertising.

And now they’re scared. The latest post on their Facebook page:

Please stay tuned to see if we will be open on Weds 9/11. We are now worried about what people will do/say to our staff & do not want anything to happen or get out of control. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone.

Somehow I don’t think inconvenience is exactly what people are upset about.

Aaaaand from their Facebook page on the day thereof.....

Elaine's Eat 'n Park

I thought this looked familiar!

Who knew?

I came across this illustration while searching for interesting pictures of bakers and baking (After all I am a Culinary Librarian!).  I just find it fascinating that they were baking  fresh bread for the bears. And heavy enough loaves for this guy to struggle with.

Running through my head

Due to a certain incident at the gym this morning, involving running with a weighted partner dragging behind. I've got "Little Red Caboose" running though my head.  Luckily it's this version sung by Sweet Honey In The Rock.

Some of us are still waiting.

Buttah face!

A young Gary Conway ruined by a mad doctor.  At least the doc had the sense to dress him in lycra from the neck down.

And of course the doc had to me mad to mar this face.

Put together correctly it's not a bad set.
