Many many years ago in our television bred youth, my brother Joseph​ and I were watching some "In search of" type program.  One of the scenes retold the story of two sisters left home alone overnight by  their merchant father. I seem to remember it was colonial times, the girls were teenagers or young adults.  As their grandfather clock struck in the hall it woke one of the girls to find something like this creature standing over her bed.  Her screams brought the other sister into her room as she caught a glimpse of the creature disappearing  behind a secret panel in the hall.  She found her sister dead of fright.  

I've never been able to locate the show or movie.  Any of this ring a bell with any other horror aficionados?
