Intrigued as I am by an entire copper grill, it would be a bitch to polish.

Animals in our oceans die and suffer everyday because of actions we aren’t really even aware of, such as leaving a plastic bag on the sidewalk. Litter can have a very negative consequence on our environment, so lets move away from plastic based products and push to make all packaging for our products 100% Biodegradable.

I didn’t even see the difference at first. I was all “huh that’s a weird looking jellyfish, I wonder what kind that is” This is a really really good ad. Like this is really fucking clever and effective.

This makes me a little sad :(

This should help you feel better:

Formative Influence

Shatner & Pettyjohn

The first Star Trek episode I ever saw.  It had me believing all females in space were babes who chose to dress as scantily as possible.  If I had my way all television would follow the same costuming be it science fiction, comedies, westerns, mysteries or dramas.  Hell! Shatner's getup even makes him look somewhat attractive.

Shake em if you got em!

Beautiful

But I'd have that hall so cluttered with unread mail, overcoats and work out gear so fast it would make your head spin!

On this day in 1891

Edith Wharton's first published story, "Mrs. Manstey's View," was accepted by Scribner's Magazine. Wharton's story did not come from the write-about-what-you-know school: she was 29 years old, brought up in wealth and high society, recently married to a prominent banker, and as opposite to her destitute heroine as she was to being a struggling young writer.

"Mrs. Manstey, in the long hours which she spent at her window, was not idle. She read a little, and knitted numberless stockings; but the view surrounded and shaped her life as the sea does a lonely island. When her rare callers came it was difficult for her to detach herself from the contemplation of the opposite window-washing, or the scrutiny of certain green points in a neighboring flower-bed which might, or might not, turn into hyacinths, while she feigned an interest in her visitor's anecdotes about some unknown grandchild. Mrs. Manstey's real friends were the denizens of the yards, the hyacinths, the magnolia, the green parrot, the maid who fed the cats, the doctor who studied late behind his mustard-colored curtains; and the confidant of her tenderer musings was the church-spire floating in the sunset."

Lest we forget!

Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May, 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. They dug up the bodies and worked for 2 weeks to give them a proper burial as gratitude for fighting for their freedom. They then held a parade of 10,000 people led by 2,800 Black children where they marched, sang and celebrated.

So I used the phrase "cock of the walk" at the gym yesterday...

in referring to another trainer, as in "He struts around here as if he's the cock of the walk" The two lunkheads I was talking to thought I was being lewd.  Tsk! Tsk!  The state of the American vocabulary.

I can relate
