Wow, it was my favorite book when I was in grade school. I checked it out of the school library all the time. I bought the book from Amazon a few years back.
No I hadn't heard of it but I do now. I just watched it on YouTube and it was animated in 1952. How did I not know this? Its cute but it doesn't have the 'heart and soul' that the book does. I bought the book a few years ago from Amazon and I just had to get it out and read it again.
Yes, the cartoon fails to capture the serene magic of the book. It did however more forcefully remind me of most sets I've see for Death of a Salesman.
