Whos that eatin that nasty fruit?
I would constantly ask this question, apropos of nothing, while at work. Surprisingly (or not, I worked in a office full of middle aged lily white librarians) no one ever got the answer right..

Gratuitous flesh....
Bo and Luke Duke
As far as I'm concerned the entire crux of the show is captured in this little montage,a t lest the entire reason that I was watching it as an impressionable youth......

For God's sake! Go with venetian blinds!!!

I am spending my morning, (recovering from lat night''s pre-birthday celebration) at home going thorugh my TIVO log, I'd forgotten I had even recoreded the The Cobweb (1955)
Ye gods what a mess of a movie, despite the impressive cast:
At an exclusive psychiatric clinic, the doctors and staff are about as crazy as the patients. The clinic head, Dr. Stewart McIver, thinks that it would be good therapy for his patients to design and make new drapes for the library. Mrs. Karen McIver, who is neglected by her hardworking husband (and a bit unbalanced herself), wants to make her mark on the clinic, so she orders new drapes. Miss Inch, the business manager, who has been with the clinic longer than anyone, sees this as an intrusion into her territory, and she too orders drapes. All this puts everyone in a dither, as they fight over drapes and clinic politics. Written by John Oswalt {jao@jao.com}

Narcissistic question

Okay, here's my latest, chosen among oh SO many, rant.
Since I've been laid off I've been hitting the gym, let's face it in the past five years I've never given up a chance to hit the gym, pound the gym, try to beat the gym into a submissive pulp.
Also since I've been laid off I've actually had some free time. this means that I am able to go out and socialize. My new part time job waiting tables has gotten me out into the public view a bit more and thankfully after a long long hiatus my social life has picked up a bit. Now, I am not talking much here, but it's a hailstorm for me.
However, here is the fly in my self centered tube of ointment. I've been accused of being to body obsessed, both in viewing mine and potential candidates. So I'm posing the question thus
I've worked long and hard to put together what I assume is a decent package to tempt...how vain is it of me to expect something similar in return?

Boynton Beach Police arrest woman in muder for hire plot
If all the cops in Boynton Beach look like this arresting officer it might be worth committing a crime....

Clubbing
In an attempt to get my depressed unemployed ass out of the house, I tried going out this past Friday night. Except for the dancing, the results were not dissimilar.....

'The Taking of Pelham 123' (1974)
While stuck at home today, recovering from a NOT very fun medical procedure I came across this oldie but goodie in my On Demand cable package.
I remember seeing it years ago on television and it's always been stuck in my memory banks. Featuring Walter Mathau, Jerry Stiller, Martin Balsam and a brief appearance by Doris Roberts, it still makes for good watching.

It's the plumber. I've come to fix the sink!
Invariably if you had asked "Who is it?"in my childhood, and either my brother or I happened to be in the room. This would have been the answer followed by gales of laughter.
Good times!

The past is never pretty
Many many years ago I drank, and I drank a lot! It made me fat, it made me mean and it made me loud. I decided to stop as I still wanted some people to like me, particularly the good looking and the well built.
As if the startled dear in the headlights look from strangers that I stiill get to this day weren't bad enough, (sorry folks) my good friend Joy has captured this stroll from pub to pub for posterity

Just like Grandma used to say.....

So last night while working at the cafe, I used the expression "I'm all over it, like white on rice!" only to be asked to explain what that meant. That was fine until a little later when a patron dropped a fork and I announced company was coming, and again had to explain what THAT meant.
I'm starting to feel a little old around my co-workers.......
