I have just learned that Martha Raye’s Medal of Freedom is now safely in the hands of the Smithsonian. Many thanks to Frank Blazich for letting me know. Here’s his wonderful article:

Put It IN The Big Mouth! Adore her. The Bugaloos! She really was one of a kind. Strange ending, but she sure was there for the boys in uniform - The USO. And amazing woman and a one of a kind talent.
