Today is Jim Henson's Birthday. Kermit's original creation date was May 9th, 1955 but over the course of time it got changed officially to Sept 24th as well. By some trickery of coincidence Linda Lavin popped into my head recently and I found this Muppet Show episode where she guest starred and they celebrated the Kermit's Birthday.

I came across this illustration while searching for interesting pictures of bakers and baking (After all I am a Culinary Librarian!). I just find it fascinating that they were baking fresh bread for the bears. And heavy enough loaves for this guy to struggle with.
Due to a certain incident at the gym this morning, involving running with a weighted partner dragging behind. I've got "Little Red Caboose" running though my head. Luckily it's this version sung by Sweet Honey In The Rock.
