Harvard Study Proves Why The Bees Are All Disappearing

The human race is really starting to feel the consequences of their actions.
One area we are waking up to is the massive amount of pesticides we spray (especially in North America) on our food that has not only been linked to human disease, but a massive die off in the global bee population within the past few years. Full story here.

It's Winter, time to start planning the garden in Spring.

Bees are a “cornerstone” species, meaning if a cornerstone species goes extinct, it takes the entire ecosystem with it. If bees go extinct, a lot of flowering plants, fruits, and vegetables will go extinct with them, causing a massive food shortage worldwide that will kill millions.
So yeah, save the bees. They are harmless and help keep the planet alive and literally help grow food.

Whole Foods Shows Customers the Bleak Future of Produce Without Bees
“The decline in bee populations has been all the buzz lately, which led Whole Foods Market to team up with the Xerces Society to show us what a world—or at least, produce section—without bees would look like. The University Heights, Rhode Island store removed all foods that are reliant upon the important pollinators, and it leaves a pretty slim selection; 52% of the produce department’s offerings would be pulled from shelves without bees around to help.”

Save the bees!
This year, food security is set to suffer another big setback, and the culprit could not be cuter: honeybees. Last winter, America’s beekeeping industry lost nearly half of all its bee colonies. And the numbers keep falling. Last summer, in the largest bee kill on record, more than 50,000 bumblebees were killed in Oregon as a direct result of exposure to an insecticide applied to trees for cosmetic purposes. Learn more
