Yes, they fired her. Although I should point out that Hale is not from Clintonville, the school, Bishop Watterson, is in Clintonville. Hale lives in Powell, north of Columbus.
This is a horrible, horrible action by the Columbus diocese. The good news is that not only are the current student furious, but their parents and the alumni are pissed.
Even better news, Columbus has nondiscrimination language that protects people based on sexual orientation, and there are no exemptions for religious organizations.
