smithsonianlibraries: There are so many great seasonally spooky images in Die Totentänze (1922), including this silhouette of Death chasing a man by Franz Graf von Pocci, founding Director of the Munich Marionette Theatre, shadow puppeteer and author of countless puppet plays and children’s stories.
