My study is right by my laundry room. It's rare that I get past with a load of laundry and don't settle in for a few chapters. Tonight's 40 minutes consisted of a few essays from Laurie Colwin's Home Cooking and the first few chapters of Upton Sinclair's Another Pamela. Of course the whites could easily have been folded and put away in under 10 minutes.
